Daiwa Capital Markets Hires Two to Run Mortgage-Backed Pass-Through Desk
-Industry veterans join leading broker-dealer-
NEW YORK, May 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Daiwa Capital Markets America Inc. announced today that Michael Marsallo and Mark Schultz have joined the firm's MBS group to lead the mortgage-backed pass-through desk. Both have more than 20 years of industry experience and were most recently responsible for pass-through trading at MF Global.

Mr. Marsallo previously worked at MF Global, starting the Agency Pass-through desk, and helped build out a mortgage team of more than 30 professionals. Before he was at MF Global, Mr. Marsallo was a Managing Director at UBS from 1998 to 2008 and was head of the desk from 2006 to 2008.
Mr. Schultz previously worked with Mr. Marsallo as Co-Head of the Pass-through desk at MF Global. Before he was at MF Global, Mr. Schultz was Co-Head of Pass-through trading at Countrywide Capital Markets and held a similar role at Yamaichi from 1993 to 1997.
