RICHFIELD, Ohio, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- OEConnection LLC, the premiere parts and service exchange in the automotive industry, announced an agreement today with Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA), the largest heavy-duty truck manufacturer in North America, to provide online supply chain and networking solutions for its U.S. and Canada dealerships. Using OEConnection's D2DLink web-based technology, over 600 DTNA dealer locations will have a single source for locating and purchasing OE parts for DTNA's commercial vehicle and engine brands, which include: Freightliner Trucks, Freightliner Custom Chassis, Thomas Built Buses, Western Star Trucks, Sterling Trucks, and Detroit Diesel Corporation. In addition, the D2DLink network solution will encompass Alliance Parts, DTNA's private label brand of truck parts, accessories, and components.

Upon implementation of OEConnection solutions, DTNA dealers will have access to online parts sourcing and excess inventory reduction tools to create a parts supply network and shorten part cycle-times. By enabling the DTNA dealer network parts inventories to be leveraged to find needed parts, OEConnection solutions will help ensure DTNA vehicles are repaired and back on the road faster.
"Daimler Trucks North America has an excellent reputation for product quality and customer support, and we are delighted to add them to our partner portfolio," said Charles Rotuno, OEConnection president and CEO. "D2DLink, now the most used OE parts procurement tool in North America, is the perfect solution to help Daimler Trucks North America dealers respond to their customers with greater parts accuracy and speed."
Daniel Haggerty, director of parts marketing for Daimler Trucks North America, commented, "D2DLink is an excellent tool to ensure parts availability at the point of sale for our customers. This technology, which builds on many corporate-level initiatives, should drastically improve our off-the-shelf fill rates at the dealer level as well."
John Craft, dealer principal for Campbell Freightliner, stated, "For the Freightliner dealer network, our investment in D2DLink improves the customer experience in our dealerships by improving parts availability. With the increased availability of parts inventory our efforts should result in less down time and better information for our customers."
In addition to 16 automotive manufacturers, Daimler Trucks North America is the second non-automotive OEM to contract with OEConnection and its online technologies. Implementation of the D2DLink parts marketing and sourcing tool is currently underway among DTNA dealerships.
