Daily Record Recognizes McGuireWoods Baltimore Attorneys

BALTIMORE, Dec. 16, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- McGuireWoods LLP announced today that Jennifer J. Stearman and Michelle N. Lipkowitz have been named to the Daily Record's inaugural list of Maryland's Leading Women. Both attorneys practice from the firm's Baltimore office.

Stearman is a partner with the firm and practices in the area of corporate finance with an emphasis on the energy and healthcare industries. She has substantial experience in tax-advantaged healthcare, higher education and municipal/government debt and lease financings as well as traditional secured and unsecured lending and asset securitization transactions. Lipkowitz, who has been elected partner (effective Jan. 1, 2011) with the firm's Business and Securities Department, focuses on business and securities, commercial, class action and consumer financial services litigation.

Stearman graduated cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Carolina. She is a member of the University of Maryland Hospital for Children's Board of Visitors, for which she chairs its Nominating Committee. She is also on the Board of Directors for Maryland Lawyers for the Arts.

Lipkowitz earned a J.D. degree from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University. Among her many community-based positions, Lipkowitz is chair of the Maryland Transportation Professional Services Selection Board, for which she oversees statewide architectural and engineering projects of more than $200,000.
