Daily News' Innovation Lab Launches "Conversations" Event Series
Inaugural panel discussion on October 15th unites digital media influencers Shani Hilton (Buzzfeed), Jason Mojica (Vice News), Nilay Patel (The Verge/Vox), and Joe Weisenthal (Business Insider) with Moderator David Park (Daily News) for a conversation about the changing media landscape

NEW YORK, Sept. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Daily News' Innovation Lab, with a mission to transform media together, announced the launch of its Conversations event series, focusing on key trends and innovations in publishing and new media. The kick-off event, "The New News Organization," exploring the wave of new digital outlets shaping media today, will take place Wednesday, October 15 at the Microsoft Technology Center in New York.
"Media change is no longer occurring by the year but by the minute," said Daily News CEO Bill Holiber. "The Innovation Lab's Conversations series will tap the industry's most dynamic players to understand where this surge of change is taking us."
At the October 15 event, Buzzfeed Deputy Editor-in-chief Shani Hilton, Vice News Editor-in-chief Jason Mojica, The Verge Editor-in-chief Nilay Patel, and Business Insider Executive Editor Joe Weisenthal, will discuss their thoughts on what lies ahead for them and for the industry as a whole on a panel moderated by Innovation Lab Director David Park.
"There's been a wave of energetic and innovative digital media outlets changing the way we produce and consume news," said Innovation Lab Managing Director Cyna Alderman. "This event will take a close look at where change is occurring today and how success is being defined—and achieved—in this new media environment."
The event, taking place at the Microsoft Technology Center at 11 Times Square in New York, begins at 6:30 pm with registration and networking followed by a panel discussion from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm and additional networking from 8:00 pm – 8:30 pm.
