Local CITGO Marketer Fueling Good For Ronald McDonald House
BANGOR, Maine, Nov. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- From Nov. 7 through Nov. 9, local CITGO Marketer Daigle Oil Company and CITGO Petroleum Corporation celebrated the grand re-opening of Daigle Oil Co.'s full-service DOC's Place CITGO on Stillwater Ave. while giving back to local charitable organization the Ronald McDonald House of Bangor. The CITGO location has been closed since September for renovations, including the replacement of its underground tanks.
The grand re-opening weekend featured discounts including two cents off each gallon of gas at the pumps and half-priced Gold car washes. Moreover, 10 cents of each gallon purchased on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Bangor, which offers short-term accommodation for families whose children are receiving treatment at nearby medical facilities. On Sat., Daigle Oil Co. offered door prizes throughout the day, including CITGO Gift Cards, car wash coupon books and an iPad Mini. DOC's Place CITGO also had free beverages and snacks available onsite, and a total of $1,200 in CITGO Gift Cards was given out in $10 denominations to customers who purchased twelve gallons of gas or more.
"Our customers have been incredibly loyal over the years," said Daigle Oil Company brand manager Sonya Dechene LeBoeuf. "We are excited to reward them for their loyalty by offering discounts both at the pumps and car wash along with exciting door prizes. A focus of ours in doing business in Bangor is giving back to the community organizations that help support our neighbors—and that's why we're supporting the Ronald McDonald House of Bangor."
Over the course of 2013, nearly forty percent of patients at the Ronald McDonald House of Bangor came from Aroostook County. Many families make eight-hour round trips to utilize the services of the Ronald McDonald House of Bangor. Each year, the fourteen-bedroom House is a "home away from home" for approximately 450 families who must travel to seek treatment for their seriously ill or injured children. In addition to providing homelike, temporary lodging for families of seriously ill children, the Bangor Ronald McDonald House administers services beyond housing to families to improve the lives of children.
"The support from Daigle Oil Co. and CITGO will help us continue to provide a warm and welcoming interim home for families in need," said Deandra Briggs, Manager of Advancement Services for the Bangor House. "As we celebrate 31 years in the Bangor community, we're grateful to have relationships with local businesses like Daigle Oil Co."
"CITGO and our network of Marketers and Retailers support local communities and champion organizations that work to strengthen them," added Alan Flagg, assistant vice president of supply and marketing at CITGO. "We are proud of Daigle Oil Co. not only because of the success of its DOC's Place CITGO, but also because of its continued support of families in need through the Ronald McDonald House of Bangor."
