BETHESDA, Md., July 30, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation officially unveiled today a new visual identity and logo. The new mark bears the words, adding tomorrows – the organization's tagline – and features the image of a rising sun, symbolizing past progress and hope for the future for all people with the disease.

The new logo, which is only the second in the CF Foundation's history, captures the spirit of forward momentum in the fight against the disease. Through its successful "venture philanthropy" model, the Foundation has raised and invested hundreds of millions of dollars in promising CF research and a robust pipeline of potential therapies that target the disease from every angle. Nearly every CF drug available today was made possible because of the Foundation's support and ongoing work with researchers and the pharmaceutical industry to find a cure.
"The life expectancy of a child with cystic fibrosis has increased significantly in the last 30 years, but we are still losing young lives to this disease every day," said Robert J. Beall, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. "Our new logo represents our promise to continue to add tomorrows to the lives of those with CF and to find a cure for this disease."
The new visual identity launches during a landmark year of progress in treating cystic fibrosis. This includes the January 2012 U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval of Kalydeco, the first drug to address the underlying cause of the disease for a small segment of the CF population.
The Foundation's new visual identity and logo can be seen on its website, www.cff.org.
