Cylance® Named 2016 World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer
Applying Artificial Intelligence to cybersecurity dramatically reduces the success of cyberattacks of every level of sophistication, including those from nation/states and cybercriminals
IRVINE, Calif., June 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Cylance®, the company that is revolutionizing cybersecurity through the use of artificial intelligence to proactively prevent advanced persistent threats and malware, today announced that it has been named a World Economic Forum 2016 Technology Pioneer. Cylance was chosen for its work on the world's first predictive cyber threat prevention technology. Through real-time mathematical and machine learning threat analysis, Cylance technology prevents malicious software from running on a computer or other digital device before it can cause harm.
"We are truly honored to be named to the World Economic Forum 2016 Technology Pioneers," said Stuart McClure, president and CEO at Cylance. "Cylance was founded with the mission of protecting everyone under the sun from cyberattacks and threats, and we are thrilled to begin working with other pioneers and global leaders within the World Economic Forum to help usher in a new era where everyone is equally protected from these attacks."
Cylance was chosen by a professional jury from among hundreds of candidates as one of the 30 selected companies. Thanks to its selection, Cylance will have access to the most influential and sought-after business and political network in the world and be invited to the Annual Meeting in Davos in January.
Cylance has begun delivering on its mission by both strengthening and simplifying the process of protecting corporate and government network "endpoints," such as computers and data servers from cyberattacks. Organizations protected by Cylance technology can begin to remove layers from their complex security setups, knowing that malicious software will be automatically prevented from running.
Just as importantly, the wide adoption of CylancePROTECT® will have a positive impact on both business and society by driving up the cost of waging cyberattacks exponentially for malicious actors.
The Technology Pioneers were selected from among hundreds of applicants by a selection committee of 68 academics, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and corporate executives. Notable members of the committee include Jeffrey M. Drazen (editor-in-chief of The New England Journal of Medicine) and Sang Yup Lee (distinguished professor and director of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology). The committee based its decisions on criteria including innovation, potential impact, working prototype, viability and leadership. Past recipients include Google (2001), Wikimedia (2007), Mozilla (2007), Kickstarter (2011) and Airbnb (2013). More information on past winners can be found here.

About CylancePROTECT®
Cylance's award-winning product, CylancePROTECT®, provides enterprise endpoint security by preventing advanced persistent threats and malware from executing. The product is able to protect all endpoints that are vulnerable to today's advanced attacks, including personal computers, enterprise endpoints, and niche devices that control critical infrastructure like power plants, oil refineries, telecommunications equipment and public transportation systems. CylancePROTECT has redefined enterprise endpoint security by using a radically different technological approach that integrates a deep understanding of hackers and attack vectors with the most sophisticated artificial intelligence and algorithmic science, to neutralize virtually all malicious files before they can cause damage. CylancePROTECT is able to stop what others products cannot without requiring a cloud connection or frequent updates, all while using a fraction of the system resources associated with antivirus and endpoint security software.
About Cylance® Inc.
Cylance is the only company to offer a preventive cybersecurity solution that stops advanced threats and malware — before they can execute — at the most vulnerable point: the endpoint. Applying a revolutionary artificial intelligence approach, CylancePROTECT® analyzes the DNA of code prior to its execution to find and prevent threats others can't, while using a fraction of the system resources associated with antivirus and detect and respond solutions deployed in enterprises today.
