Cyient Signs Global Software Licensing Agreement with Elpis Squared
SAN DIMAS, Calif., Oct. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Cyient, a global provider of engineering, manufacturing, geospatial, network and operations management solutions, announced today that it has signed an exclusive software licensing agreement with Elpis Squared ("Elpis"). Elpis, a startup software company from Portland, OR, provides innovative machine learning meter and voltage signature technology.
Through this agreement, Cyient and Elpis will jointly pursue utility business opportunities, by leveraging their complementing solutions and technology respectively. The partnership will combine Cyient's data governance management solution—Intelligent Data Management Solution (iDMS)—with Elpis' innovative RE|Grid platform to enhance the role of data in supporting electric utilities' Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) and Asset Management programs. The joint solution launches at a critical time when utilities are deploying Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) enabling large-scale data validation using machine-learning and analytics.
The integration of iDMS and RE|Grid, along with its load flow analysis, state estimation, and fault management intellectual property, will benefit utilities by protecting their advanced grid investments through data governance, validation, and incorporation of machine-learning algorithms that consume voltage signals to make better decisions about their network.
Under the terms of the agreement, Cyient will integrate iDMS with exclusive license rights to resell the Elpis' RE|Grid platform to utility clients globally.
Expressing confidence in the partnership, John Renard, President of EMEA and Senior Vice President for Utilities & Geospatial, Cyient said, "I am delighted to announce details of this landmark agreement for our business. Elpis is an exceptional company that has created an innovative and unique solution in the form of its RE|Grid platform. Leveraging this as part of Cyient's Design, Build, Operate & Maintain strategy allows us to deepen our scope of engagement with utilities globally and we look forward to working with Elpis to make our joint partnership a success for both our companies and our clients."
On signing the agreement, Bryan Wright, CEO, Elpis Squared said, "Our pairing of technologies will greatly impact how utilities manage their infrastructure, enabling Re|Grid to serve a myriad of business solutions across the utility operational footprint."
