Law Enforcement Technology and Law Enforcement Product News Gain International Attention with APEX and Tabbie Wins
FORT ATKINSON, Wis., July 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Raising the editorial bar up a few notches, Law Enforcement Technology and Law Enforcement Product News earned top honors this year for editorial excellence and achievement in B2B media by the Trade, Association and Business Publications International (TABPI) with two Tabbies, and from the editors of Writing That Works, additionally earning three APEX Awards.
Law Enforcement Technology Associate Editors Sara Schreiber and Tabatha Wethal were both recognized in the Feature Article category for the APEX Awards. Wethal's article explored the underbelly of American culture in the February 2010 issue of Law Enforcement Technology. "The Problem with Porn" seeks to understand the far-reaching implications that an addiction can foster and the crime it may incite.
Schreiber received both an APEX Award of Excellence and inclusion in TABPI's "Top 25 Feature Articles" showcase with her "Green" Writing category entry titled "Cultivating a life behind bars" published in the September 2010 issue. The story looked at a "green" trend in which inmates grow and maintain vegetable gardens; a program that many believe reduces recidivism.
Under the editorial leadership of Editor Jonathan Kozlowski, Law Enforcement Product News was recognized for its March/April 2011 issue with an APEX Award of Excellence in the Most Improved Magazine & Journals category.
Law Enforcement Technology also won a Tabbie nod in the Best Single Issue Top 25 for its August 2010 edition, honoring the editorial team: Tabatha Wethal, Sara Schreiber and Jonathan Kozlowski.
The Annual APEX Awards showcase Publication and Editorial Excellence. It is open to communicators in corporate, nonprofit and independent settings. The APEX Awards are sponsored by the editors of Writing That Works, a bimonthly newsletter for communicators who write, edit and manage business publications.
