Cycle Stuff Direct Looks at Getting Back on our Bikes
SOUTHAMPTON, February 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Raring to go and inspired by the longer days and brighter starts, most cyclists will be thinking about getting back on their bicycles, to enjoy getting out and about again and seeking out those cafes or watering holes! Cycle Stuff Direct, a bicycle clothing and accessories website looks at the prospect of cyclists getting back on their bike.
Andy Stevens, Cycle Stuff Direct's Cycle Development Manager says, "The first few rides can be hard work for cyclists if they haven't been on their bike for a while; however there are a few things that can help cyclists to get motivated."
Andy says that the first thing is to have a good schedule of training planned, to build up intensities and steady miles, which can seem quite daunting. He says "Having a plan really does get you motivated and once you get going, it's something that you can definitely look forward to after work or on weekends."
Getting new cycling gear for the season can also boost motivation as buying new clothing like jerseys, shorts or shoes can make cyclists feel fit for the part. Andy suggests, "Sometimes a nice treat based around cycling can get you motivated, because getting out and about is a great excuse to show off and use the new gear."
Some cyclists also like to upgrade their bicycle components including bicycle saddles and handlebars to improve their overall cycling performance and in this case, cyclists can see the progression and hard work pay off for themselves.
One of the best things to get motivated is to think about the cafes or watering holes that cyclists can reach on their bike rides! Andy explains that there are loads of places dotted around the UK, he says that "A few favourites of mine include Route 2 in Topsham which serves locally sourced food and also doubles as a cycle hire and repair shop! One that has been most rewarding and exhilarating is reaching the Hartside Top café in Cumbria, the highest café in England. Closer to home one of my favourites is the Drift Inn, in the New Forest which is family friendly and a perfect pit stop for people enjoying the area."
Once getting outside and enjoying the sunshine, people will start feeling the benefits of cycling as it increases fitness levels, helps with weight-loss and also releases endorphins, making you feel great inside and out!
