Cybercrime Magazine Announces FutureCon Launch of Next Generation Cybersecurity Conferences In 24 Cities Across North America
U.S. Navy veteran turned entrepreneur is aligning the cybercrime discussion between C-suite and information security executives
SAUSALITO, Calif., Oct. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- FutureCon has announced a new series of cybersecurity conferences in the U.S. and Canada focused on educating CIOs, CISOs (chief information security officers), and IT security teams on the global cybercrime epidemic, and how to build cyber resilient organizations.
"Cybersecurity is no longer just an IT problem," says Kim Hakim, founder and CEO of FutureCon Events, and a former U.S. military (Navy) veteran turned successful entrepreneur. "The real and potential damages resulting from cybercrime is an increasingly important priority for CEOs and boardroom executives. Our events will feature keynote speakers, panel sessions, and networking opportunities for the information security leaders and practitioners that are accountable to executive management at organizations of all types and sizes," says Hakim, who has produced hundreds of cybersecurity conferences over the past decade.
"Cybercrime damages are predicted to cost the world $6 trillion annually by 2021, up from $3 trillion in 2015," says Steve Morgan, founder and Editor-In-Chief at Cybersecurity Ventures, the Official Research and Media Partner for FutureCon. "Kim's vision is aligned with the reality that cybercrime is one of the biggest challenges facing organizations of all sizes and types, and that CEOs need to become schooled in the subject matter and more closely aligned to the senior security executives working for them," adds Morgan.
At each FutureCon event, an expert moderator will lead a panel of CISOs and IT security professionals in discussions around how they've effectively mitigated the risks of cyber attacks.
FutureCon has entered into a strategic media partnership with Cybercrime Magazine, which includes home page editorial coverage on every FutureCon event over the next year. "We're committed to elevating our speakers and sponsors in one of the top cybersecurity media properties globally," says Hakim. "By aligning with Cybercrime Magazine, our goal is to provide our speakers and sponsors with a global community and the best possible ROI."
