Gold joins CVS Caremark on July 9 and will focus on bringing new and differentiating technology solutions to the company's retail and pharmacy benefit management businesses.

Gold has more than 30 years of experience in designing and implementing large-scale technology initiatives in the PBM, eCommerce and retail industries. He joins CVS Caremark from Avaya, Inc. where he held the position of CIO. Prior to that, he served as the CIO and chief technology officer for the eCommerce solutions provider GSI Commerce, Inc. Gold also served more than 12 years in various IT leadership positions with Merck & Company, Inc. and Medco Health Solutions.
