ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In association with Renaissance Hotels (RH), McCartan, a design company operating out of offices in New York and the UK, have been chosen to create a new Renaissance Hotel in Downtown Orlando. True to the brand direction of 'Living Life to Discover' the design will give a window into the future of RH and how they are continually redefining the world of travel. The hotel, located at the heart of Orlando's business district will feature 292 rooms and opens in summer 2015.
Colum McCartan, principal and founder of his namesake company, will inspire guests with rooms that emulate an artist's studio and public spaces that expand on that premise considerably. The concept is based on a less well known fact that Orlando has a thriving vibrant and creative core. The bold design, accompanied with authentic local touches will intrigue and transform the Orlando and Renaissance Hotel experience. Credited most recently as the creative mind behind the success of award-winning Epiphany Hotel in Palo Alto, McCartan describes how he will bring his company's renowned flair to the project.
"We aspire to create new and unique experiences for hotel guests", he said. "Not just through our natural ability to create visually enticing environments, but by engaging all of their senses and piquing the urge to discover. We did a lot of research on the city of Orlando and worked to create a meaningful manifest on which to build the design process. We eventually realized that it was the essence of our research, which was: 'Peeling back the layers, to reveal the creative heart of Orlando through its homegrown artists'. This gets to the 'heart' of what we intend to build."
The net result of McCartan's work will offer guests an authentic local experience, engaging them in a way that will allow them to find their artistic side by experiencing what the new RH direction has to offer. Renaissance Hotels once again will be perfectly positioned at the intersection of global fashion and the hyper-neighborhoods of its locations and cement its place at the forefront of the ever increasing popularity of 'The City Beautiful' and its hotel industry.
