DFW AIRPORT, Texas, Feb. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have expanded support for a new mobile app, Mobile Passport Control (MPC), to expedite customer arrivals at DFW Airport. The MPC mobile app is currently available for use by U.S. and Canadian citizens, and is the first authorized mobile app for use in entering the United States. With the Mobile Passport app, travelers submit their passport information and customs declaration form to CBP electronically prior to arrival.
"The Mobile Passport Control system is a simple and efficient way for U.S. and Canadian travelers to quickly clear through Customs when arriving at DFW," said Mazhar Butt, senior vice president of customer experience at DFW Airport. "The collaboration with our partners at CBP has enabled us to deliver a number of products to provide a better overall customer experience by significantly reducing wait times in the DFW arrivals hall."
"CBP is proud to work together with DFW to offer Mobile Passport Control as an option to expedite traveler's arrival to the United States," said Director Field Operations in Houston, Judson W. Murdock. "CBP remains committed to making the international arrivals experience as traveler-friendly as possible through innovation and collaboration with stakeholders while maintaining the highest security standards."
Eligible travelers can download the Mobile Passport app for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. There are four easy steps for MPC:
The Mobile Passport Control system is the latest technology implemented at DFW to improve the process of entering the country after an international trip.
In 2014 DFW introduced its leading edge Automated Passport Control (APC) technology, which now boasts 51 kiosks in all. The APC system can accommodate U.S. and Canadian visitors, international travelers from all 38-visa waiver countries. DFW also became the first U.S. airport to begin automatic processing of U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents (citizens with "green cards").
DFW also introduced Carry E-Z© lines, labeled in green in the International Arrivals Hall, which enable international customers traveling without checked bags to clear the CBP arrival area in one step and move directly to the landside concourse, thereby skipping the baggage claim process.
