Customers Bank appoints Joseph E. Schupp Community Reinvestment Act Officer
WYOMISSING, Pa., Aug. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Customers Bank recently appointed Joseph E. Schupp as its Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) officer.

Schupp has an extensive background in community reinvestment and economic development activities and programs. Most recently he served as Community Reinvestment Officer and Foundation Administrator for Sovereign Bank's approximately $90 billion financial footprint.
In his new role, Schupp will focus on ensuring that Customers Bank helps meet the credit needs of the communities throughout its service area, including low- and moderate-income neighborhoods in Philadelphia and the surrounding region, in ways that are consistent with safe and sound banking practices.
Schupp will report to Glenn Yeager, Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Customers Bank, as well as to the board of director's CRA & Fair Lending Committee, chaired by Ken Mumma.

Schupp plays an active role in a number of regional affordable housing and economic development initiatives throughout the Greater Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley regions, as well as statewide. He serves as treasurer for the Alliance for Building Opportunities, a developer and manager of affordable housing in communities in Lehigh, Northampton, Berks and Monroe counties, president of Valley Housing Development Corporation, and program manager for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh Affordable Housing Program.
Schupp graduated from Kutztown University, Kutztown, Pa., with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration.
He lives with his wife, Susan and daughter, Megan in Bethlehem, PA.
