Custom Computer Specialists Awards 10 Scholarships to Seniors Throughout the Northeast

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., July 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Custom Computer Specialists, Inc. (Custom), an information technology service provider, announced today the ten winners of its Right Start Scholarship program.  In an effort to recognize high school seniors who appreciate the role technology plays in education, Custom has awarded $30,000 in scholarships to graduating students throughout the Northeast.

Each non-traditional award, valued at $3,000, consists of a Hewlett Packard® (HP) Tablet PC, HP Officejet All-in-One Printer, HP External disk drive, Microsoft® Office 2007 – Professional, 4 Gig Flash Drive, notebook carrying back pack and $1,000 cash for university related expenses.  

Almost 400 high school seniors throughout the Northeast submitted scholarship applications, with ten students selected to receive this valuable award. Students were evaluated on the content of their essay, overall academic performance and a letter of recommendation.

This year's winners are:

  • Kathleen Comber: Pierson High School, Sag Harbor, NY
  • Jordan Dashow: Solomon Schechter High School, Glen Cove, NY
  • Heather Dyer: Palmyra-Macedon High School, Palmyra, NY
  • Peter Evengelatos: W.T. Clarke High School, Westbury, NY
  • Jermaine Barrington-Heath: Brooklyn Technical High School, Brooklyn, NY
  • Patrick Leonard: Whitman-Hanson Regional High School, Whitman, MA
  • Zaina Naeem: Brooklyn Technical High School, Brooklyn, NY
  • Sharon Reshef: Solomon Schechter, High School, Glen Cove, NY
  • Mary Rossillo: Longwood High School, Middle Island, NY
  • Olga Semertzidis: Ward Melville High School, East Setauket, NY

The introduction of this unique scholarship program comes on the heels of Custom's thirtieth anniversary celebration.  "Having worked closely with school districts throughout the Northeast for the past three decades we are delighted to be in a position to give back," said John McSweeney, President.
