Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Celebrates Texas Cedar Crossing Facility Completion on Time and on Budget
Will Serve As Center of Excellence for Large Refining and Process Vessels
FALLS CHURCH, Va., May 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Company today celebrated the completion of construction of its $36-million, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chambers County, Texas. The Cedar Crossing facility builds large vessels and equipment for the refining and petrochemical industries and supports production of large valve products for the severe service process industries.
Construction on the new facility began in September 2010 and was completed on time and on budget. The facility houses some of the most modern machining and fabrication equipment available in the industry and has already booked $17 million in new orders.

The new facility covers over 12 acres of property and includes a 118,000-square-foot manufacturing area. Key features include one of the largest, fully enclosed blasting and paint facilities in the U.S., refractory installation, superior material handling and convenient barge transportation. The facility creates about 100 jobs, from engineering positions to skilled welders and fitters. Curtiss-Wright Flow Control currently employs 255 employees in the Houston area.
The project advances the company's leadership in supplying products and technology to the severe service process industries. Unlike other valve manufacturers, it is the industry's only single source provider of a turnkey package of slide valves, actuators, power skid units, field service, Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU) equipment, reactors and large diameter pressure vessels.
Clif Jacobs, Vice President and General Manager, Curtiss-Wright Flow Control's Oil & Gas Systems, hosted the ribbon cutting event. Joining him were the Honorable Hope Andrade, Texas Secretary of State, Chambers County Commissioner Precinct 4 Rusty Senac and Baytown Mayor Stephen DonCarlos.
