Curtiss-Wright Establishes QualTech NP
New Business Unit Will Offer Innovative Testing, Environmental Qualification and Commercial Grade Dedication Services to the Nuclear Power Industry
FAIRFAX, Va., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Company (CWFC) announced today the establishment of a new business unit, QualTech NP, as part of its long-term commitment to serve the unique needs of the nuclear power industry. QualTech NP will combine three of the company's nuclear power businesses: Trentec (based in Cincinnati, OH), Scientech's EGS Products Division (based in Huntsville, AL) and NETCO (based in Kingston, NY). It will become part of CWFC's Nuclear Group.
"Aligning the resources, assets and capabilities of these legacy organizations will create synergies focused on the development of greater safety-related hardware solutions and accelerate expansion of Curtiss-Wright's testing, services and manufacturing capabilities," said David Linton, President, Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Company and Chief Operating Officer, Curtiss-Wright Corporation. "We will now offer a portfolio of technical solutions second to none to support our customers' mission of supplying safe, economical electricity for many generations."
QualTech NP's vision is to be the nuclear industry's premier provider of Aftermarket Parts, innovative and comprehensive testing, environmental qualification and commercial-grade dedication services. It will also be a services and manufacturing platform for continuing growth of technical solutions for both the aging fleet of operating nuclear plants, as well as qualification of equipment to be installed in new reactor designs. Kurt Mitchell, formerly with Scientech, will serve as QualTech NP's General Manager.
Each of these business units has independently pioneered solutions to the nuclear industry's most formidable technical and supply chain challenges since the 1980s. The EGS Products Division is the industry leader in safety-related connectors, electrical penetration assemblies, and environment qualification services for equipment in both existing and new build nuclear plants. Trentec is internationally recognized as the leader in solutions for nuclear facility replacement parts, commercial grade dedication, and airlock, hatch and door manufacturing. In addition, NETCO is the authority on spent fuel rack aging problems and a leading supplier of spent fuel management solutions, in-situ testing, and the NETCO-SNAP-IN® neutron absorbers.
