Curriculum Associates' i-Ready® Diagnostic & Instruction Named Finalist in 2015 SIIA CODiE Awards
Online reading and mathematics program for grades K-12 recognized in the Best Student Assessment Solution category
NORTH BILLERICA, Mass., April 7, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Curriculum Associates' i-Ready® Diagnostic & Instruction was named a finalist in the 2015 Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) CODiE Awards, the premier awards for the software and information industries. The online K–12 program was chosen in the Best Student Assessment Solution category, which recognizes the best application or solution for high-stakes assessments in the PreK–12 or postsecondary market. An earlier version of i-Ready won the SIIA CODiE Award in this category in 2013.
"The purpose of our Diagnostic is to answer the question "why?" a child is ahead or behind, and then use that information to drive differentiated instruction," said Rob Waldron, CEO of Curriculum Associates. "The combination of diagnostic and instruction is what saves teachers time and improves outcomes for children."
The SIIA CODiE Awards have been recognizing product excellence for 29 years. The awards have more than 85 categories organized by industry focus—Content, Education, and Software. This year's Education winners will be announced during a special awards dinner at the Education Industry Summit in San Francisco on May 5, 2015.
Built for the Common Core, i-Ready combines a valid and reliable measure and personalized instruction in a single online product. The adaptive diagnostic for grades K–12 pinpoints student needs down to the sub-skill level and generates a combination of online instruction for grades K–8 and downloadable teacher-led lessons that are unique to each student's diagnostic result, in addition to providing targeted skill instruction support through mobile apps. These individualized instructional plans are easy to understand, differentiate instruction, and support a blending learning solution.
i-Ready also provides Growth Monitoring which gives educators monthly opportunities to monitor student growth using several data points, making it possible to project end-of-year performance and growth for each student. Growth Monitoring provides a gauge on the effectiveness of instruction and keeps teachers moving forward on an instructional plan, to tweak lessons, or change course as needed.
i-Ready is one of the few programs on the market that can provide districts with a single solution and highly valid and reliable measure to monitor growth and predict student proficiency on a Common Core assessment, in addition to providing personalized instruction throughout a student's K–12 experience. In addition to being named a finalist in the 2015 SIIA CODiE Awards and winner of the 2013 SIIA CODiE Awards, i-Ready was named the winner of the 2013 Tech & Learning Awards of Excellence, 2014 District Administration Readers' Choice Top 100 Products Awards, and the 2014–15 eSchool News' Readers' Choice Awards.
