Culligan and Extended Stay America Partner to Provide Guests Free, In-Room Filtered Water
Reflects a Commitment to Sustainable and Environmentally-Friendly Amenities
CHICAGO, Nov. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Culligan, a leading water treatment company with award-winning water filtration systems, has partnered with Extended Stay America to offer free, filtered water in guest rooms at select hotel properties in the U.S.
Travelers often bring water to their hotel rooms in single-use plastic bottles to avoid paying a premium for designer bottled water offered in the mini-fridge or hotel convenience stores. Now Extended Stay America guests can take advantage of a better option: fresh, filtered Culligan water available free from the kitchen faucet in their room.
The installation of Culligan water filters on kitchen taps in hotel rooms began in March 2012 with Extended Stay America's California properties; the filters are being added to additional rooms across the country throughout 2013 as Extended Stay America completes planned renovations on many U.S. properties. From a sustainability standpoint, Extended Stay America and Culligan are committed to providing this environmentally friendly amenity for guests, keeping single-use plastic water bottles out of landfills.
Extended Stay America properties will feature the Culligan FM-25 faucet mount filter. The unit is compact and mounted on the kitchen faucet. The filter switches easily from unfiltered to filtered water, and produces healthier, better-tasting water for drinking and cooking.
"We are excited to partner with Extended Stay America to improve the quality of drinking water for individuals and families who are staying at its properties," said Curt Hilliard, Senior Vice President of Marketing, at Culligan International. "Consumers are making sustainable and environmentally friendly choices in their personal living situations and want to have similar choices when they travel. Having the option of Culligan filtered tap water is a terrific amenity for travelers."
"We are committed to providing our guests a consistently fresh and clean experience, and convenient, high-quality amenities at an affordable price," said Tom Seddon, Chief Marketing Officer, at Extended Stay America. "Culligan is an ideal partner to offer guests fresh, filtered, in-room drinking water. We are proud to be one of the only hotel chains to currently offer this valuable option."
Extended Stay America has 76,000 rooms across nearly 700 locations in the U.S. and Canada. To find out which hotels now include Culligan Filtered Water, visit www.ExtendedStayAmerica.com.
The Culligan FM-25 faucet mount filter system is available online, in stores and home centers, and at select Culligan dealers across the country. For more information, visit: http://www.culligandiy.com/.
