Culinary Institute Of America Graduate Takes Helm Of Italian Restaurant At Orlando World Center Marriott
Kyle Anderson brings eight years of experience to Siro: Urban Italian Kitchen, one of Orlando's premier restaurants
ORLANDO, Fla., May 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Orlando World Center Marriott's Kyle Anderson has plenty of reasons nowadays to be on top of the "world."
With eight years of culinary expertise in various kitchens in Texas, Georgia and Florida, Anderson has just been named the new chef de cuisine at the Disney World® hotel's Siro: Urban Italian Kitchen. One of the premier Italian restaurants in Orlando, Siro has earned a reputation as a leader in the global hospitality space by exceeding diners' expectations for service while offering exquisite flavors in a world-class setting.
"I'm looking forward to rolling up my sleeves in the Siro kitchen to create culinary masterpieces that will have our guests' mouths watering and palates pleased," Anderson said. "Guests will get a good taste of my passion for Italian cuisine as they dine in our casual, upbeat and inviting Orlando restaurant. That's the Siro way."
Anderson comes to the Disney World® Orlando dining establishment from the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead, where he served as executive sous chef from March 2014.
"We're extremely excited about the unique blend of creativity that Kyle brings to Orlando World Center Marriott," said Doug Ridge, general manager. "His experience and ability to master new techniques in the kitchen exemplifies what an incredible asset he is to the team."
Anderson worked as a line cook at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando while attending classes at the University of Central Florida. A few months after graduating in 2008 with a degree in restaurant and food service management and hospitality administration, he moved to Texas to work as a line cook at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio. In 2009, Anderson's determination to attend the Culinary Institute of America paid off, and he moved to New York City to complete the school's rigorous courses in 2010. He then returned to Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress to serve as sous chef at Cascade American Bistro and La Coquina. It was during this time he honed his culinary skills under the tutelage of Alain Ducasse protege chef Kenneth Juran and earned the honor of General Mills Inspiration Chef Challenge Winner in 2012.
Siro prides itself on serving authentic Italian food prepared with local produce as well as offering handcrafted classic Italian cocktails and a wide variety of wines. Breads are baked fresh every day and served alongside traditional artisan cheeses, and menu items may change daily based on available fresh ingredients. The Orlando Italian restaurant's casual, urban ambience encourages intimate dining while welcoming families with children and large groups. TripAdvisor and OpenTable have honored the eatery with Certificate of Excellence and Diners' Choice awards in 2014 and 2013, respectively.
