Cub Cadet Invites Creative Minds to Flex Their Muscles In the 'Future Vision Design Contest'
Contest Celebrates Cub Cadet's 50 Years of Innovative Thinking and Design
CLEVELAND, Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- On the heels of their 50th celebration, Cub Cadet today invites those with creative ingenuity to join them in looking toward the future through the Cub Cadet Future Vision Design Contest. In keeping with Cub's personality and drive for innovative solutions in grounds care, the Future Vision Design Contest challenges participants to describe their vision for the future of outdoor power equipment. The contest is simple and the rewards are big with a total of $50,000 in prize money and a chance to be published in Popular Mechanics awarded to the most progressive and innovative entries.
"Cub Cadet's reputation as a progressive and innovative brand is a leading influence in the advancement of the industry," said Jeff Salamon, Cub Cadet director of marketing. "The brand has a remarkable reputation of innovative accomplishments, but in addition to looking back at all we've done, we're even more excited to look ahead. To kick-off the next 50 years of innovation, we're inviting creative thinkers, visionaries, enthusiasts and really anyone with great ideas to think about what the future of outdoor power equipment may look like 50 years from now. We look forward to celebrating with our fans and can't wait to see what they come up with."
The Cub Cadet Future Vision Design Contest is supported by Popular Mechanics and runs through February 15, 2011. During that time period, interested participants are asked to submit their vision for the future of outdoor power equipment in 200 words or less with a simple sketch or rendering. A total of 50 semi-finalists will be chosen with five lucky winners – selected through online voting – receiving cash prizes of up to $5,000. Additional prize money will be awarded throughout the contest to reward voter participation. Winners will also have their ideas published in an issue of Popular Mechanics.
To encourage thinkers of all ages, Cub Cadet has even created a student category. College students are encouraged to take part with at least one guaranteed winner earning up to $5,000. Whether it's a freshman just stepping on campus or a senior looking to make a splash in the industry, Cub's goal is to make sure all great minds have a chance to join in the pursuit of tomorrow's innovations.
