CTV's CANADA AM Welcomes 40th Season with Big Party and Big Numbers, Reaching 1.4 Million Viewers

TORONTO, Oct. 29, 2012 /CNW/ - Last Friday CANADA AM celebrated its 40th Anniversary with 1.4 million individual Canadians on CTV and CTV News Channel, overnight data confirms. As 13 former CANADA AM hosts joined current hosts Beverly Thomson, Marci Ien, and Jeff Hutcheson at Toronto's Masonic Temple, the two-and-a-half hour special was watched by nearly 300,000 viewers, up 40% compared to its season average, and peaking with 479,000 between 7:30 and 8 a.m. The special also featured an interview with the longest-serving male co-host Norm Perry, while Canadian singer-songwriter Burton Cummings performed three of his greatest hits to mark the morning show's 40-year milestone.
