CTSI Tech Connect World Conference 2010 Supports AC-NET, Enriches Local Clean Tech Business Plan Competition
AUSTIN, Texas, March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- An expected 5,000 participants from around the globe will attend the 2010 Tech Connect World Conference, North America's largest clean technology conference, hosted by the Clean Technology & Sustainable Industries Organization (CTSI), in Anaheim, California from June 21-25. CTSI will team up with the Anaheim Center for New Energy Technologies (AC-NET) during that week as the city kicks off a 2010 Clean Tech Business Plan Competition aimed at finding solutions for southern California's energy and water challenges.
CTSI supports this opportunity for early stage clean energy and water companies to win financial awards, testing opportunities with the City, and consulting assistance. The financial prize includes a total of $40,000 given across three placements. The deadline for presenters to submit applications to the competition is April 5, and finalists will present at the Clean Technology Conference & Expo on June 23 in Anaheim.
However, the Competition isn't just for innovators. Investors may become involved in the competition as judges, speakers or sponsors in order to view and assess these rising technologies first. Additionally, students will find information about career opportunities through attendance and networking opportunities.
An alliance between CTSI and AC-NET will enrich the experience for Tech Connect World Conference attendees who will have the opportunity to interact with noted innovators out of the Clean Tech Business Plan Competition about their vision and plans for solving southern California's energy and water challenges. Additionally, it supports the business plan competition presenters who will have a valuable opportunity to promote their messages and demonstrate the value of their products before an influential audience of venture capitalists, Fortune 500 companies, academic and research institutions, and government agencies.
"AC-NET's purpose is to be a focal point for clean technology development," said City of Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle. "We are excited to partner with CTSI in this year's AC-NET Business Plan Competition, and I am confident we will discover innovative new companies that we can help propel into the marketplace."
Due to city initiatives, such as the AC-NET Clean Tech Business Plan Competition, and partnerships between local communities and CTSI, the Tech Connect World Conference can have a magnified and long-lasting influence over the infrastructure of a region through personal connections and created opportunity.
