BUFFALO, N.Y., July 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- CTG (NASDAQ:CTG) today announced that Laura Argauer, software engineer at CTG and John Gillespie M.D., M.B.A., Chief Medical Officer at Palladian Health and Clinical Associate Professor, State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences will co-present on the topic "Using Transformational Data Analytics to Improve Care Valuation, Management and Outcomes of Chronic Kidney Disease Patients" at the third annual Healthcare Analytics Symposium & Expo 2014. Hosted by Health Data Management magazine, the July 14-16 event in Chicago spotlights clinicians, payers, and health information and technology leaders sharing analytics skills and tools to enable transformation to drive efficiency and care quality.
The presentation to be given at 1:45 p.m. Central on Tuesday, July 15 will review the results of a real-world case study spotlighting the application of data analytics for early detection and identification of risk factors of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and timely referrals through registry data for preventive maintenance. Dr. Gillespie and Ms. Argauer will discuss how CTG and UB|MD, a group of 450-plus physicians who also are professors at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, implemented data analytics to identify opportunities to improve management, delay disease progression, promote proactive care interventions, and ensure adherence to clinical standards for CKD in western New York. The solution utilized in this project is part of a suite of medical data analytics tools developed by CTG that support clinical decision-making resulting in better patient outcomes and lower treatment costs.
Dr. Gillespie and Ms. Argauer will further offer general guidelines to help attendees better leverage new analytical data found in patient registries to stratify large populations for more appropriate treatment and timely referrals and interventions.
