CSC Partners with MobileIron for Federal Government Mobile Initiatives
New Agreement Leverages MobileIron's Next-Generation Cloud Innovation to Provide Users with Secure, Managed and Instant Access to Enterprise Data on the Device of Choice
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Oct. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MobileIron (NASDAQ: MOBL), the leader in enterprise mobility management (EMM), has entered into an agreement with CSC (NYSE: CSC), a global leader in next-generation IT services and solutions, to integrate its MobileIron Cloud enterprise mobility management (EMM) technology to build innovative, compelling, and cost-effective mobile applications (apps) for warfighters, civil servants, and citizens.
MobileIron's EMM technology provides a multi-layered approach to mobile security and applications management. Mobile IT can use MobileIron to create a private enterprise application storefront for iOS and Android devices, enforce user authentication, containerize enterprise data from personal data, and retire government apps altogether should the device be lost or stolen or if the employee leaves the organization, depending on the organization's unique requirements. In addition, through MobileIron's platform, enterprise data can be exchanged only with applications that are part of the secure offering.
CSC provides end-to-end secure mobile services to federal agencies, including mobile strategy, cross-platform app development and mobile platform integration services. Managed services for mobility include device lifecycle management, help desk support and service management. CSC's secured mobile offerings are designed to help agencies migrate to a mobile-first world with industry best practices.
"Our customers understand the transformative power of mobility and the cloud, and they want to securely provide end users with the mobile apps, content and devices that support the way they want to work," said Yogesh Khanna, chief technology officer of CSC's North American Public Sector. "MobileIron offers a superb end user experience and can scale to meet CSC's security requirements to support a global workforce."
"Federal IT departments that want to go mobile first are often challenged to provide users the benefits of mobility, while satisfying rigorous security and compliance requirements," said Bob Tinker, chief executive officer of MobileIron. "With CSC and MobileIron, government agencies gain the benefits of CSC's experience in solving technically complex, mission-critical challenges and MobileIron's industry-leading cloud platform and proven track record of supporting federal agencies."
