Cryptsoft KMIP C Toolkit Achieves RSA® Ready Certification with RSA® Data Protection Manager
Cryptsoft Toolkit Enabling Developers to Apply KMIP Standard to RSA® Data Protection Manager Software Achieves RSA® Ready Certification
BRISBANE, Australia, March 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Cryptsoft today announced its latest round of certification in the RSA® Ready program, demonstrating an improved set of interoperability features between the latest Cryptsoft KMIP C Client SDK and the latest version of RSA® Data Protection Manager software (DPM) from RSA, The Security Division of EMC. The RSA Ready certification signifies that both companies have tested and certified interoperable products with DPM across multiple deployment scenarios.
"By jointly testing the combined use of KMIPC and DPM, our mutual customers can be assured that they are compatible." said Tim Hudson - Technical Director, Cryptsoft. "We include support for OpenSSL and RSA BSAFE® Micro-Edition Suite (MES) as an optional alternate TLS implementation thereby preserving RSA customer investment in MES."
The Cryptsoft KMIP C SDK supports interaction with enterprise key management servers which support the OASIS Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) either directly or encapsulated in HTTPS. Additionally, the KMIP DPM plug-in to the KMIP C SDK may also be used for DPM integrations that need to use the native DPM protocol, integrating seamlessly into the customer's environment.
KMIPC SDK applications can create security classes and Symmetric Keys in DPM and manage use of those keys via the standard KMIP C SDK API. Key administrators can monitor and manage the use of keys by all clients including KMIP C SDK applications via the DPM web based management console.
DPM and the Cryptsoft KMIPC SDK together enable rapid addition of the enterprise key management capabilities of DPM for application developers. This seamless integration has enabled solutions like Sepaton's ES2100 Virtual Tape Library and Panzura's Quicksilver cloud storage controller to meet their customers' encryption and key management needs quickly and effectively.
"As one of the primary supporters of the OASIS Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) specification, RSA continues to demonstrate the benefits of interoperable key management combined with formal certification of products." Sam Curry - Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Technologist at RSA, The Security Division of EMC.
