Cryostar implemented Intergraph SmartPlant 3D, P&ID, Review, Foundation and Instrumentation solutions to ensure the quality and accuracy of the information transmitted by the 3D models and other deliverables it submits to customers. Additionally, the company uses Intergraph's fully-integrated engineering software to link the 3D module instrumentation to the P&ID and to automatically generate catalogs from the resulting data.
Implementation was fast as Cryostar engineers working with the Intergraph solutions became operational on the software in just three months. Since the implementation of Intergraph SmartPlant Enterprise solutions, Cryostar reports that it has substantially lowered engineering deliverable costs, simplified its management process for modifications of project documentation and reduced on-site rework rates to below three percent.
"The integration of our engineering and data management applications through the SmartPlant Enterprise solutions has rapidly produced significant, quantifiable productivity improvements and time reductions," said Didier Bertrand, Project Manager of Cryostar. "As we become more experienced with these applications, we expect to build upon these benefits, enabling us to deliver higher-quality results to our customers and provide a competitive advantage."
Gerhard Sallinger, Intergraph Process, Power and Marine president, said, "The initial productivity benefits Cryostar has experienced demonstrate the immediate impact SmartPlant Enterprise solutions can have on projects of all sizes to increase productivity and quality while reducing costs."
SmartPlant Enterprise is an integrated solutions suite that provides full design, construction, materials and engineering data management capabilities needed for the creation, safe operation and maintenance, and capital Project Life Cycle Management (cPLM) of large-scale process, power, marine and offshore projects. The software's life cycle data management also enables a smoother handover for EPCs to owner operators and for owner operators to more easily maintain, refurbish or modify their plants.
The ARC Advisory Group, a leading industry analyst firm, ranked Intergraph the No. 1 overall engineering design 3D software and process engineering tools (PET) provider worldwide according to its PET Worldwide Outlook Market Analysis and Forecast through 2013.
