MORRISTOWN, N.J., Jan. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Crum & Forster (C&F) announced today that it has hired Roger Potter to head up a new initiative designed to assist its underwriting, marketing, and claims operations through data mining and predictive modeling. As Vice President of Data Analytics, Mr. Potter will expand and enhance C&F's quantitative analysis capabilities and work closely with business leaders to identify areas where the use of business intelligence and strategic analyses can improve operating efficiencies and underwriting results.
Mr. Potter comes to C&F with over 20 years of experience in the areas of quantitative research and analysis. Most recently he served as Head of Advanced Analytics at TyMetrix, a subsidiary of Wolters Kluwer, serving corporate law departments and claims organizations. Prior to that, Mr. Potter held various research and development positions at Travelers and The Hartford. Mr. Potter received his B. A. and M.A. in Economics from the University of Connecticut and holds the CPCU designation.
Mr. Potter will be based in Morristown, NJ, reporting to Matt Kunish, Senior Vice President & Chief Actuary. Mr. Kunish commented: "We are excited to have Roger join us with his vast experience in data analytics. Data, by itself, without in-depth analysis in conjunction with business needs, is ineffective.
