CRU to Publish Weekly Italian and Chinese Steel Sheet Price Assessments
LONDON, March 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Following extensive research and development, CRU will publish definitive weekly Italian hot-rolled coil, Chinese hot-rolled, cold-rolled and hot-dipped galvanised coil indices each Wednesday from 2nd March 2011.
Chris Houlden, Editor of the CRU Steel Sheet Products Monitor, stated, "Following the success of our weekly US steel sheet indices we plan to increase the frequency of a number of spot price assessments published in the Monitor from monthly to weekly. Having an established team of analysts in our Beijing office has enabled us to make the transition to weekly Chinese prices without compromising the robustness of the assessments. Furthermore, to compliment hot-rolled coil, we hope to have definitive Italian cold-rolled and hot-dipped galvanised assessments by Q2, 2011."
When asked what instigated the move, Mr Houlden added, "Having more frequent assessments of regional prices allows us to undertake even more comprehensive analysis of domestic and international markets for finished steel products, helping us deliver greater value for our clients."
