CIMS is a rigorous program that sets a new standard of excellence for building service contractors. Implementation of the Standard's signature framework, which is built around five universally accepted quality principles, establishes Crothall as a high-performance, customer-focused cleaning organization. Crothall is also the first healthcare support services provider to again achieve CIMS and now is proud to support healthcare's LEED Certified buildings with CIMS-GB certification. Facility management and purchasing professionals regard CIMS certification as a key differentiation tool, using the program to identify those organizations that have proven to be true companies of excellence and that stand alone among the premier organizations in the industry.
To become certified, an organization must demonstrate its compliance with the requirements described in the five sections of management best practices that make up the Standard. An independent, accredited assessor conducts an on-site review of the applicant's systems, processes, and documentation to ensure compliance. The organization has to meet 100 percent of the mandatory elements and 60 percent of the recommended elements per section to achieve certification.
Crothall Healthcare also earned the CIMS-Green Building Certification (CIMS-GB) with Honors, an additional distinction that certifies a commitment to the delivery of environmentally preferable services designed to meet customer needs and expectations. Crothall Healthcare has demonstrated implementation of CIMS-GB principles into its clients' operations where requested, proving a capability to provide green cleaning services and assist customers in achieving points under the LEED-Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance (LEED-EBOM) Green Building Rating System.
"Receiving CIMS as well as CIMS-Green Building Certification is a testament to the excellence and drive of our Crothall Healthcare people," said Crothall Healthcare President Tom Racobaldo. "This achievement places us as the only healthcare support services organization among a select group of quality housekeeping organizations. I am proud to know we have again met the demanding requirements of ISSA and earned honors distinction. The Green Building with Honors distinction helps solidify our commitment to employing environmentally responsible solutions for our customers and their communities."

About CIMS
CIMS sets forth a management framework for operational excellence. The Standard was developed through a true consensus-based process that brought together representatives of the cleaning, facilities management, and purchasing communities. In total, more than 100,000 constituents were represented in the process, which included full peer review, and was administered by ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, and the American Institute for Cleaning Sciences (AICS). Certification to the Standard demonstrates that an organization's systems, processes and procedures are structured to deliver consistent, quality, and customer-focused service.
