Crosby, Stills & Nash Add Fifth And Final Show On October 22 At The Beacon Theatre In New York City
THE BAND IS SCHEDULED TO PLAY THEIR 1969 DEBUT ALBUM IN THE SHOW'S SECOND SET
THIS SHOW WILL BE THE LAST 2012 TOUR DATE FOR CROSBY, STILLS & NASH
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- With four shows at New York City's Beacon Theatre near sell out, Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN) have added a fifth and final date, October 22, to its four night run (Oct. 16, 17, 19, 20) at the venue next month. The show also marks the conclusion of CSN's extensive 2012 world tour, which comprised more than 80 dates in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, and South America. For its second, tour-closing set on October 22, CSN will perform its classic 1969 debut album, Crosby, Stills & Nash, in its entirety—with songs including "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes," "Marrakesh Express" and "Guinnevere." It's the first time the band has ever performed a full album on stage. CSN website members will have access to pre-sale tickets for the final Beacon Theatre show on Thursday, September 20 before the public on sale on September 21st.
"We've had an incredible time on the road this year," says Graham Nash. "We can't think of a better way to honor the end of our 2012 tour, than playing our first album as the last set of our final show." The tour kicked off in January, and has drawn capacity crowds and enthusiastic reviews. Writing for MSN Music, Mark Brown noted, "At Red Rocks in Colorado on August 21, CSN absolutely killed it. Every song. No lulls. No filler … It's hard to believe that any band in 2012 would be putting on better shows than it did in 1969, but CSN did just that."
Earlier this summer, the group released CSN 2012, a 25-song set on Blu-ray and DVD, presenting CSN's first live performance film in more than 20 years; the film includes a conversation with David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash, and "on-the-road interviews" with the group's band and crew. The players accompanying Crosby, Stills & Nash on their 2012 tour are: Todd Caldwell (organ), Shane Fontayne (guitar), Steve DiStanislao (drums), Kevin McCormick (bass), and James Raymond (keyboards).
More than four decades since CSN first harmonized in Laurel Canyon, and played their first-ever concert as a trio at the legendary Woodstock festival, its members continue a creative partnership that is one of the most influential and enduring in music. David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash have each been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame two times—once with Crosby, Stills & Nash, and a second time with The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, and The Hollies, respectively. They have also been inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame, with the honor recognizing both CSN as a group, and each member as individual solo artists. Through changing times, various configurations, and acclaimed solo careers, Crosby, Stills & Nash have continued to tour and record as "three together." For Crosby, Stills & Nash, concluding their five night run at the Beacon Theatre in New York with a performance of their debut album will be a celebration of the time spent touring together this year.
