"Crisis is the New Normal" - Davia Temin Teaches Crisis Management to C-suite Executives and Board Directors
NEW YORK, May 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- "Crisis is the new 'normal,'" says crisis, reputation and marketing advisor Davia Temin. "Chief executives, their executive committees, and their boards can no longer see crisis as a rare, black-swan event – it is now a normal part of doing business. The sooner we learn how to prepare for, manage and defend against it, the better the outcomes will be."
On Monday evening, May 16, Ms. Temin will present a new "Crisis Game" to a group of C-level executives in New York, at the C-Suite Trust. Her "Crisis Game" case methodology is based on the interactive seminars on media and society created by Fred Friendly, with whom Ms. Temin worked on business and the media seminars. The game is designed to stress-test executives in a crisis, allowing them to role-play different scenarios and discover how they – and others – react and respond to potential challenges. Later this week, at WomenCorporateDirectors' first-ever Global Institute, Ms. Temin will lead some of the most powerful women corporate directors in a discussion of "What Boards Need to Know about Crisis Management."
"Crisis management has to become a regular part of leadership training and on-board preparation," says Ms. Temin. "By rolling up one's sleeves and addressing the topic head-on, leaders can help protect their companies – and deliver greater shareholder value."
Ms. Temin is founder and CEO of Temin and Company, which advises global companies, their boards, CEOs and leadership teams on reputation and crisis management, marketing and media strategy, leadership communications, and thought leadership. She is also First Vice Chair of the Board of Girl Scouts of the USA, Chair of the Board of Video Volunteers, and serves on the advisory boards of the Knight-Bagehot Fellowship at Columbia Journalism School and ProPublica, and on Harvard Kennedy School's Women's Leadership Board.
