In Horse Heaven Hills and Archery Summit in Willamette Valley
NAPA, Calif., Sept. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Crimson Wine Group (OTCBB: CWGL), which specializes in handcrafted, estate-grown wines originating from the highest quality winegrowing regions in the United States, is pleased to announce the forthcoming opening of The Estates Wine Room, an urban tasting venue located in Seattle's historic Pioneer Square. Slated to debut by the end of the year, The Estates Wine Room will focus on wines from Crimson's Northwest holdings – Double Canyon (Horse Heaven Hills, Washington) and Archery Summit (Willamette Valley, Oregon).
The Estates Wine Room will bring tailored wine experiences to the city of Seattle through tastings and events customized for different consumer types. The Estates Wine Room combines design features that capture the essence of the Horse Heaven Hills and Willamette Valley appellations as well as the urban and artistic environment of Pioneer Square.
"The Estates Wine Room is an opportunity to feature our two Northwest wine estate properties to new consumers with a variety of tasting experiences in a revitalized part of Seattle," said President and CEO Patrick DeLong.
Located in the southern edge of downtown Seattle along the waterfront, Pioneer Square is a central city location and transit hub. The historic district is on the rise as a destination for Seattle's foodies. The neighborhood features a range of luxury boutiques, restaurants and is home to the nation's first established art walk, which takes place on the first Thursday of each month.
The Estates Wine Room will be located at 307 Occidental Avenue South, on Occidental Mall. The space will include a standing tasting bar alongside seating and a wine retail area. Two- and four-seat tables will accommodate walk-in customers for tastings, by-the-glass sales, small bite menu offerings and food and wine pairings highlighting Double Canyon, Archery Summit and other wines. Private space is also available for reserved experiences for large and small groups.
Established in 2007 by Crimson Wine Group, Double Canyon Vineyard resides in the heart of the award-winning Horse Heaven Hills AVA in Washington State and yields exceptional, high-quality fruit that produces wines with great individual character. Double Canyon features limited-production Cabernet Sauvignon that reflects the unique terroir of the distinctive, windswept desert region from which it comes. General Manager Will Beightol, a native of the region, has worked with the vineyard since the land was planted and is responsible for all day-to-day operations, while Enologist Stephanie Pao oversees winemaking operations under the guidance of Chief Winegrower Craig Williams.
An acclaimed Dundee Hills winery, Archery Summit is known for crafting exceptional estate-grown Pinot Noir from its 120 acres across six estate vineyards. The winery's philosophy is driven by a commitment to understanding the intricacies and unique personalities of each vineyard, resulting in wines that vividly express their distinct places of origin. Winemaker and General Manager Christopher Mazepink manages all vineyard and winemaking operations.
