Cricket Wireless Is Giving $15,000 to Schools through Its New "Go Positive" Contest
Visit a participating Cricket store to nominate a school that empowers positivity among students
ATLANTA, Sept. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- This back to school season, Cricket is looking to provide a little positive reinforcement to students and schools around the country. Through its "Go Positive" contest*, Cricket will recognize schools that have activities, special events and other programs in place that encourage positive behaviors and empower students. Cricket will work with family and lifestyle expert Daisy Teh, also known as The It Mom blogger, to award 15 schools nationwide $1,000 each for programs that spread positivity.
Why "Go Positive"?
We've all seen the headlines about harassment, threats, and violence in schools. In 2015, 34 percent of middle school students said they were cyber-bullied at some point in their life.
"It's easy to forget how much good there is in the world with statistics like these," said Teh. "The 'Go Positive' campaign is focused on highlighting the work being done by schools around the country to encourage and uplift young people. Whether it's an innovative music program or an after-school book club, we want to know about – and support – the programs that encourage positivity in students and empower them to spread that message among their classmates."
