CREDO to Fight Back Against Trumpism With $300,000 Donation to Progressive Nonprofits
Carrier with a conscience to fund 15 nonprofits aligned with three causes: The Movement for Black Lives, Fighting for Climate Justice and Standing Up Against Trump's Hate
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CREDO, the mobile carrier with a conscience, announced that it will donate more than $300,000 to progressive nonprofits in December. The campaign will support 15 grassroots organizations aligned with three causes: The Movement for Black Lives, Fighting for Climate Justice and Standing Up Against Trump's Hate. CREDO invites its members and the public to vote on the distribution of funds at CREDO Donations.
Since 1985, CREDO has donated more than $81 million to progressive organizations fighting for women's rights, economic justice, voting rights, environmental justice and more. By choosing CREDO products and services, members generate donations for these causes. Their everyday acts of commerce support CREDO Action, a social change network with 4 million activists, and CREDO Donations, the company's philanthropy program.
In 2014, CREDO introduced monthly donations and voting in order to support nonprofits when action is most critical. This December, CREDO will double its monthly donation from $150,000 to $300,000 in order to combat Donald Trump's backward agenda. Voters can join CREDO and its allies in their stand against racial discrimination, environmental degradation and hate.
"Trumpism represents a homegrown threat to American democracy and the progressive values that safeguard it. CREDO will do everything possible to combat Trump's extreme right-wing agenda and protect the most vulnerable among us," said Ray Morris, CEO of CREDO. "For December, we specifically chose to fund nonprofits that will counteract Trump's dangerous agenda. They share our determination to uphold human dignity no matter what Trump does."

- BlackOUT Collective
- Black Youth Project 100 (BYP100)

- Muslim Advocates
- National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON)
