(BPLG), a smart grid technology company, announced today that it has appointed Craig Wellen to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In his new role, Wellen will oversee all the financial operations of the company and actively participate in developing and executing strategic initiatives to expand BPLG's business on a global basis.

With over 15 years of experience in the energy industry, Wellen is a power and utility finance veteran with extensive sector relationships and strong transaction experience. Throughout his career, he has advised a diverse group of clients on M&A transactions and strategic capital raises totaling over US $35 billion including publicly-traded and venture-backed companies, project developers, private equity investors, and global energy and industrial firms.

Prior to BPLG, Wellen was one of the initial partners of Greentech Capital Advisors, the largest global investment banking advisory firm focused solely on the sustainable infrastructure sectors. At Greentech, Wellen was the lead partner responsible for new business origination and transaction execution in the smart grid, energy efficiency and utility-scale renewable power generation sectors. Before Greentech, Wellen worked as a senior investment banker at Citigroup, where he had primary account coverage responsibility including new business origination and transaction execution for North American utilities, infrastructure funds and multinational energy companies. Previous to his work at Citigroup, he was a core team member of SG Barr Devlin, a leading investment banking boutique focused on the power and utility sector.
