PHILADELPHIA, July 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- You can make a difference in the lives of families of police officers who died protecting us in the line of duty by simply eating Crabfries® on Thursday, July 13th, also known as National French Fry Day.
Chickie's & Pete's, the iconic Delaware Valley based sports bar and restaurant group, has announced they will hold their 3rd Annual Crabfries 4 Heroes event on Thursday July 13th. Chickie's & Pete's holds Crabfries 4 Heroes to coincide with National French Fry Day each year. The event benefits The Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police Survivors Fund. The Fund provides support for the families of fallen police officers.

"I simply can't express the admiration our team has for police officers," said Pete Ciarrocchi, Chairman and CEO of Chickie's & Pete's. "The 'thin blue line' they walk each day represents the difference between the safety and protection we all want and the dangers our officers face each day. We are so proud to have created Crabfries 4 Heroes to show our support."
On Thursday, July 13th, Chickie's & Pete's will take Crabfries® 4 Heroes on the road to treat police officers on duty. The "Crabfries® Express" truck will load up and deliver free Crabfries® and other menu items to multiple police districts throughout Philadelphia. The Crabfries Express will also make a stop at the Philadelphia Police Academy to treat those in training. "These men and women are on the job, or soon will be, protecting us," said Pete Ciarrocchi. "So, we're going on the road to let them know how proud we are of them and the work they do each day."
"Here's the thing with Pete Ciarrocchi and Chickie's & Pete's," said John McNesby, President of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5. "Before we need them they are there for us.
