SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- C.R. Sanger drives a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia in the C. R. England Dedicated fleet out of McCarran, NV. He has driven for England since May 2012. Sanger maintained an average of 7.35 MPG with a three percent idle time during the quarter. This represented more that .4 percent per mile MPG better and 12 percent less idle time than his peers in the same fleet and division. Sanger attributes his fuel efficiency success to being light on the accelerator, especially when driving the challenging grades of Donner Pass in the Northern Sierra Nevada Mountains. He keeps his shifting at the recommended RPMs and uses cruise control as much as possible.
The fourth quarter promotion, which ran from October 1- December 31, 2012, required drivers to have met the following: availability at 75 percent or higher, an average mpg of 7.1, an idle of less than 18 percent and no chargeable late loads. Competition included drivers that had a start date no later than October 1, 2012.
C.R. England's partners in the promotion are Golden Spike Harley-Davidson, Warner Truck Center, Horizon Truck and Leasing, Loves Travel Stops, IdleAir, Comdata, EFS and Pilot/Flying J.
