C.R. England Awarded the Transplace Sustainability Excellence Award
SALT LAKE CITY, June 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- C.R. England, a Salt Lake City-based global transportation provider, received the Transplace Sustainability Excellence Award at the 2011 Transplace Shipper Symposium. C.R. England was awarded this honor based on top achievement, including status as a Transplace Platinum Carrier, and recognition from EPA's SmartWay Transport Partnership and company sustainability accomplishments. Transplace is a leading non-asset based third-party logistics (3PL) provider.

C.R. England has made notable achievements through its green initiatives including saving more than 10 million gallons of fuel from 2008 through 2010. The company has taken significant steps to incorporate more efficient and environmentally friendly equipment and technology such as ultra lightweight day cabs, super singles, and driver and load optimization software. Additionally, C.R. England has also placed into service 53-foot refrigerated intermodal containers with 300 containers already in service as well as is currently in the process of adding liquefied natural gas (LNG) vehicles into their fleets.
The Transplace Carrier Merit Program categorizes carriers into tiers based on strict and demanding performance factors. To be eligible for the Transplace truckload Carrier of the Year Award, a carrier must have met eight requirements based on performance and sustainability. Some of those qualifications include:
- Hauled at least 1,500 loads for Transplace
- Maintained an on-time pick-up/delivery of 95 percent or better
- Maintained excellent customer service relationships
- Utilized EDI capabilities extensively
