Cozen O'Connor Ranked Number Two Bond Counsel in Pennsylvania and Number One Underwriter's Counsel in New Jersey
PHILADELPHIA, March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Cozen O'Connor was recently listed by Thomson Reuters as the number two bond counsel firm in Pennsylvania for 2009, the firm's highest bond counsel ranking to date. The firm was also ranked as the number one underwriter's counsel in New Jersey for the second year in a row. Thomson Reuters bases its lists upon the aggregate dollar amount of the deals.
"These rankings highlight the strength of our practice and the caliber of the deals we handle for clients on both sides of the table," said Suzanne Mayes, co-chair of the public and project finance practice. "While the bond market floundered a bit in the beginning of 2009, the balance of the year yielded new issuance opportunities under the federal stimulus package. We were well-versed in those innovative financing techniques and able to help clients effectively utilize those programs."
The firm's public and project finance practice handles all types of finance transactions and has closed more than $15 billion in bond financings as bond counsel, underwriter's counsel and borrower's counsel for states, local governments, state and local authorities, nonprofits, and developers, among other diverse clients since 2007.
Established in 1970 and ranked among the 100 largest law firms in the United States, Cozen O'Connor has 550 attorneys who help clients manage risk and make better business decisions. The firm counsels clients on their most sophisticated legal matters in all areas of the law, including litigation, corporate, and regulatory law. Representing a broad array of leading global corporations and ambitious middle market companies, Cozen O'Connor serves its clients' needs through 24 offices across two continents.
