Cox Enterprises Elects Alex Taylor and Jamie Kennedy to Board of Directors
Fourth-generation appointments represent long history of active family involvement and governance in company
ATLANTA, April 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- At its meeting today in Atlanta, Cox Enterprises elected Alex Taylor and Jamie Kennedy to its board of directors.

Taylor serves as executive vice president of Cox Enterprises, where he oversees the company's long-term investment strategies. He also manages Cox's investments in the Cox Innovation Fund and True North Venture Partners. Prior to this role, Taylor was senior vice president of field operations for Cox Communications, the company's broadband and cable subsidiary, where he oversaw operations of cable systems.
Prior to Cox Communications, he was the executive vice president of Cox Media Group where he oversaw its television, radio, newspaper and digital properties in Atlanta, Alabama, Ohio and Texas. His career with Cox includes serving as publisher of the Dayton Daily News, The Palm Beach Post and The Daily Sentinel in Grand Junction, Colo. and vice president and business manager at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Additionally, he served as an advertising executive, reporter and editor at various Cox properties.
Taylor received a bachelor's degree in science with a focus on human and organizational development from Vanderbilt University.
Jamie Kennedy serves as a board member for CIBT, Dynamic Signal, InSite Wireless Group and True North Venture Partners. He previously served as Cox Enterprises' vice president of corporate development where he oversaw the acquisition of Kelley Blue Book, Savings.com, vAuto and Vin Solutions. He also led investments in iHigh, InSite Wireless Group, Scoutmob and Skyword.
Kennedy earned his master's of business administration degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and an anthropology degree from the University of Colorado.
Cox Enterprises' board includes three generations of Cox family members, including: Anne Cox Chambers, Jim Kennedy, Alex Taylor and Jamie Kennedy. The board is also comprised of Michael Ahearn, Arthur Blank, Janet Morrison Clarke, John Dyer, Taylor Glover, Jimmy Hayes, Tripp Rackley and Christopher Williams.
