CHESAPEAKE, Va., Aug. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Communications maintains a Business Continuity Plan intended to prepare the company for emergency situations such as hurricanes. Our priority, after first ensuring the safety of our employees, is to continue to serve our business and residential customers during and after emergency events.
As the storm has passed, following are the most recent Cox Communications updates:
- Our business and residential technical support team members are presently working to assess the state of the operation. Following the assessment, Technicians will be deployed to begin work to restore service to impacted customers.
- Service outages are primarily due to power outages. Nearly 75% of Cox residential and business customers were not impacted with service outages during the storm. Service outages have been reported throughout the region. We follow Dominion Power in service restoration. Our restoration priorities follow call for us to restore core infrastructure, emergency and government/municipal customers, and then other residential and commercial entities
- Also, all Cox Solutions Stores in region continue to be closed. Stores will re-open on Monday, August 29.
- Cox Media will resume normal operations on Monday, August 29.
Finally, we are unable to release additional information on the situation at this time, but we will provide as much information as possible when we have been able to fully assess the situation.
