Cox Business Powers Communications at Oklahoma Cancer Center
OKLAHOMA CITY, Dec. 13, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Cancer Care Associates, a physician-owned oncology services provider, has teamed with Cox Business to provide more reliable communications between its 14 clinics, four cancer centers and three satellite offices in Oklahoma.
After a complete communications assessment, Cox Business migrated Cancer Care Associates from a competitor's data network to Cox Business Ethernet service, which allows the organization to securely transfer radiology images between sites. Cancer Care also transferred all voice communications to Cox Business.
"Cox Business took the time to fully access our needs and recommended a complete solution that supported the requirements of our organization," said Steven Martin, IT Network Engineer, Cancer Care Associates. "We quickly realized our previous provider was overcharging and under delivering. With Cox Business, we have enhanced capabilities and our total telecom spend has dropped significantly."
Hundreds of healthcare organizations in Oklahoma trust Cox Business with their voice and data networks, including one of the state's largest medical centers, INTEGRIS Health. INTEGRIS has been using Cox Business for several years to support its telemedicine solutions, such as remote video consultations, real-time information exchange, imaging and VoIP applications, between its rural hospitals and major medical centers.
Cox Business Ethernet Service, used by both providers, is uniquely designed with redundant fiber ring architecture to provide additional failover capability in the event of disaster.
"Cox Business' dense network infrastructure and local resources are the perfect prescription for regionally-focused organizations with complex communications needs, such as healthcare providers," said Randy Chandler, vice president, Cox Business Oklahoma.
Cox Business provides voice, data and video services for more than 260,000 small and regional businesses, including healthcare providers, K-12 and higher education, financial institutions and federal, state and local government organizations. According to Vertical Systems Group, Cox Business is the fourth largest provider of business Ethernet services in the U.S. based on customer ports and the company ranked highest among small/midsize business data service providers in J.D. Power and Associates 2010 U.S. Major Provider Business Telecommunications Study(SM).
