Cox and Fairfax County Celebrate Black History Month
Public invited to free program honoring African American women
HERNDON, Va., Feb. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Communications, in partnership with Fairfax County, invites the public to attend a free program honoring African American women in celebration of Black History Month. The program will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2012, in the Fairfax County Government Center Auditorium. A free reception will be available starting at 6 p.m.

Throughout Black History Month, Cox will:
- Feature an extensive slate of Black History themed programming On Demand
- Run public service announcements about African American women in history and their contributions to society
- Host Black History Month celebrations in partnership with various community groups throughout our core markets (Hampton Roads, Roanoke, Northern Virginia)
This year's program with Fairfax County will include a performance by actress Jenelle Randall, who will interpret the story of music legend Nancy Wilson as part of the county's month-long tribute to African American women in history.
