Covr Financial Technologies Names Carol Goetsch Head of Carrier and Product Strategy; Chris Bergeon Is New Head of Business Development
BOISE, Idaho, Feb. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Covr Financial Technologies, a privately owned digital personal insurance platform, announced today that Carol Goetsch has joined Covr as Head of Carrier and Product Strategy.
Goetsch's responsibilities will include expanding Covr's roster of insurance carrier companies and broadening the product choices that its institutional clients and their advisors can offer to a wide range of life insurance buyers. She reports to Covr Vice Chairman Todd Ruplinger.
Goetsch was formerly Senior Group Insurance Product Manager of U.S. Bancorp Investments of US Bancorp, MN. She entered the insurance business in 1984. Since then she has held senior level positions with major financial institutions including UBS Financial Services, Prudential Securities, Hartford Life and Northwestern National Life.
Ruplinger said, "Carol's experience in financial institutions gives her an unparalleled understanding of the challenges and opportunities available to financial advisors and life insurance consumers. Her deep relationships with carrier insurers will help Covr to develop products that address the needs of a wide range of consumers and to help financial institutions expand their services to insurance buyers."
Goetsch's appointment is the most recent addition to Covr's management team. Prior to that, Chris Bergeon was named Head of Business Development to be in charge of building relationships with new Covr clients from among financial institutions, banks, broker dealers and credit unions. Bergeon is also deepening Covr's existing relationships with its clients by creating strategies to help them introduce insurance offerings in their financial plans for their consumer-clients.
Bergeon has more than twenty years of experience in management and distribution in the insurance, banking and investment industries. Prior to joining the Covr team, he headed retail life and annuity distribution for Great-West Financial, a subsidiary of Great-West LifeCo., Winnepeg, Canada, growing the business to a leadership position in the financial institutions markets. Bergeon also brings extensive management consulting experience from his work with Deloitte Consulting's financial services strategy and operations practice.
Commenting on the Goetsch and Bergeon appointments, Covr CEO Bill Benjamin said, "Covr continues to enhance its senior leadership team, filling it with talented, experienced insurance and financial industry executives who share our vision of how best to address the needs from financial institutions and nontraditional insurance distribution partners to bring insurance into people's financial planning conversation."
"Covr's competitive edge," Benjamin added, "is our ability to call upon outstanding executives from the ranks of insurance, technology, marketing and financial industries to serve our clients and grow our business. This advantage is exemplified by our advisory board: Brian Finn, former president of Credit Suisse First Boston; Sallie Krawcheck, owner and chair of Ellevest, former president of Global Wealth & Investment Management, Bank of America; Hans Morris, managing partner, NYCA Partners, formerly president of Visa; Brady Dougan, former CEO of Credit Suisse; Gary W. Parr, Senior Managing Director at Apollo Global Management, private equity firm; Neal Wolin, former Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Treasury and former executive vice president and general counsel for The Hartford Financial Services Group; Matt Muta, vice president, IT Innovation and Commercial Technology, Delta Air Lines, formerly Microsoft's global managing director for Hospitality and Travel."
