The original English version of the Resource Guide was issued in November 2012 by the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and stands as the definitive guidance document from the U.S. government regarding its enforcement of the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). We hope the Chinese translation of the Resource Guide will be a valuable resource for the anti-corruption community.
Don Ridings and Steve Fagell, co-chairs of Covington's global anti-corruption practice, and Eric Carlson, partner in our Beijing office, have vast experience with the FCPA and are available to comment.
- Steve Fagell previously served as deputy chief of staff and counselor to Assistant Attorney General Lanny A. Breuer in the Justice Department's Criminal Division. - Don Ridings advises clients on a range of compliance issues arising under the FCPA and other anti-bribery regimes. He counsels clients on proposed transactions, guides companies as they develop or strengthen their anti-corruption compliance programs and controls, develops and delivers tailored training programs, leads internal investigations, and represents clients before enforcement authorities.
- Eric Carlson advises clients operating in China and other jurisdictions in Asia on a range of anti-corruption laws, including the FCPA. He has deep experience leading highly sensitive anti-corruption/FCPA investigations in China and other jurisdictions in Asia, including investigations presenting complex legal, political, and reputational risks.
