Coverity Introduces Best Practices for Static Analysis in Agile Development
Multi-city seminar series to provide best practices for using static analysis in agile development; Coverity poll finds majority of developers still researching or piloting agile methods
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Coverity, Inc., the software integrity leader, today announced a multi-city seminar series to help software development organizations understand best practices for using static analysis with agile development methods. The free seminars follow on the heels of a recent Coverity poll finding that 60 percent of developers are still researching or piloting agile methods.
"Companies using agile are shifting their investments from testing late to analyzing code integrity early in the development cycle," said Behrooz Zahiri, director of product marketing at Coverity. "This has resulted in strong demand for Coverity's static analysis and integrity products to help developers using agile to meet their quality standards in every sprint and iteration. This series of educational seminars is designed to showcase best practices from Coverity customers and our agile partners."
Leading Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) companies AccuRev, AnthillPro and Rally Software have partnered with Coverity to roll out the free seminars across the country. The Agile seminar series kicks off on February 4 in Millbrae, Calif., with planned stops in major cities nationwide over the next couple of months. Registration details, as well as the complete schedule are available at http://coverity.com/html/news_events.html.
The poll was conducted on January 19, 2010 in a Coverity webinar on agile development. Results were sourced from developers who specified interest in using static code analysis to automate testing in an agile process (80 percent of attendees).
