CoverHound names Tena Melfi & Anita Sathe to its executive team to round out successful quarter
Highlights include corporate leadership, exciting new partnerships and new high Net Promoter Score (NPS)
SAN FRANCISCO, April 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CoverHound, the leading digital marketplace for comparing and purchasing insurance, today announced the appointment of Tena Melfi and Anita Sathe to the company's executive team, as Chief Revenue Officer and VP of Commercial, respectively.
"We are thrilled to have both Tena and Anita expand our already deep executive team," said CoverHound's CEO Keith Moore. "Their experience will help CoverHound continue to scale by increasing carrier relationships nationwide and launch online comparison shopping for small businesses and cyber insurance later this year."
Melfi joins the executive team as CoverHound's Chief Revenue Officer. She has in-depth experience shaping corporate vision, defining and executing strategic initiatives and balancing growth with profitability. A 17-year veteran of the insurance industry, Melfi most recently served as the head of USAA's Insurance Agency (2010-15). Prior to USAA, Melfi held leadership roles at Allstate Insurance Co and Homesite Group Incorporated.
Melfi serves on the board of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation Texas — Southeast Region. She is also the co-chair of the 2016 IICF Texas-Southeast Regional Women's Forum (June 21, 2016) and previously presented on the 2014 Forum Panel.
"Tena brings a wealth of experience in innovating, increasing revenue and developing talent in the insurance industry," said CoverHound CEO Keith Moore. "She is ideally suited to helping us build on CoverHound's industry-leading presence. She has demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout her career and is experienced in guiding fast-moving companies. She will be instrumental in driving CoverHound's business forward."
Sathe joins CoverHound as VP of Commercial to head up the Company's small business insurance offering. Prior to CoverHound, Sathe worked with Deloitte Consulting for 12 years where she helped primary insurers and reinsurance companies define product strategies, improve underwriting processes, and increase profitability. Sathe has an actuarial background and is one of a select group to have a dual fellowship of the Casualty Actuarial Society & the Society of Actuaries. Sathe is also a regular speaker at various insurance industry conferences.
Moore cited her leadership and commercial experience as reasons why she's an ideal fit for CoverHound. "Consumers and small business owners need easier access to insurance on the go, and they need the ability to quickly and easily sift through the options that best fit their needs. Anita recognizes this and is committed to working with our carriers to define the market opportunity and realize the full potential of CoverHound across the P&C insurance industry."
A productive quarter for CoverHound
The appointments of Melfi and Sathe round out a very productive quarter for CoverHound. In March, the company restructured its agency operations with a multi-line product strategy, focusing on automotive, property and SMB insurance. The Company also unveiled new business partnerships in the automotive market with Beepi and Shift.
CoverHound reached a significant customer experience milestone when it reported that its Net Promoter Score (NPS) reached 81 year-to-date in 2016 — a 30-point jump from its 51 NPS mark in 2014. Once again, CoverHound's high NPS proved the effectiveness of its business model in achieving high customer satisfaction and what set the Company apart from competition. NPS is a methodology broadly used by corporations to measure customers' likelihood to recommend their products or services to others and is often used as a proxy for gauging customer satisfaction and customer loyalty to the brand.
