In cooperation with USA Football, Courtyard will honor 10 of the most deserving youth league participants and volunteers with $1,000 grants for new helmets, shoulder pads, and equipment to improve player safety.
"For Courtyard hotels, our job is to help our guests achieve success while on the road, much like athletes at away games," explains Janis Milham, senior vice president, Modern Essentials and Extended Stay Lodging. "This contest allows us to support those who enable success in children, and inspire them to be great every day, namely their coaches and mentors."
In addition to grants, the winners from across the country will be rewarded with a commemorative helmet. Seven of the winners from select markets will also be a special guest at Courtyard's tailgate event, where they will have the chance to meet a local NFL legend. The call for entry is open from August 30 – September 30. Youth players, parents, volunteers and coaches are encouraged to submit their nominations at USAFootball.com/InspireGreatness
"We are proud to work alongside Courtyard to recognize devoted individuals who lead youth football programs in their communities," said Scott Hallenbeck, USA Football's Executive Director. "The 400,000 adult volunteers who teach our children how to play America's favorite sport better and safer rarely receive credit for the commitment and care they show our young athletes. They make it possible for nearly 3 million children across the country to realize the academic, social and physical fitness benefits that youth football provides."
